Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I noticed in forum timeline some people got approval by email and other person received the text message from HMPO on passport application. is it common practice to receive email about decision or still wait for the brown envelope?

I emailed the Home Office to ask about why they have given me two Case IDs. Cut long story short.. I applied online on 31/7/2018, received an acknowledgement email next day with Case ID. The next day after the passport fee was deducted on 30/8/2018, the Home Office sent me the same acknowledgement email with a new Case ID. So I emailed them to ask about the two Case IDs. They took a long time to reply me but they replied today with email saying happy to inform me it was approved on 5th Oct. I still need to wait for the actual approval letter.

I emailed

As you can see my timeline above, I have a lot of issues with my biometrics. Somehow the reply I received today was from
NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gov.uk but I have no idea how it ended up in their department. Hope this help.
