Hi everyone! seeking help desperately.
My wife is applying for her settlement wife and settlement child (1.2 years old) from India to join me. My visa status is ILR. She have completed the form but stuck in IHS section. I am confused as to which option should my wife choose from:
1) Applying alone
2) coming to the UK with dependent
3) Apply to join somebody (the main applicant) in the uk.
Two immigration solicitors suggested option 2, but selecting option 2 brings the IHS fees to £1200 (130000 INR). When filling up the IHS form for my daughter choosing option 1 (applying alone) it comes up saying she is exempt (pay £0.00).
Going through this forum I have seen a few applicants with child, saying that they had the same issue but then the home office have asked for £600 for the child and to be paid in 7 days after the application has been submitted.
As it is I am scraping all of my finances I know I couldn't afford to if I am paying £1200 for my wife with dependent.
Anyone who could share their success stories of a similar application would help immensely. Also anyone who could provide some advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
PLEASE.

It is option 1. There is bug in IHS system which shows a lot of children as exempt - home office will contact you later on to pay for it.
Was your child born after your ILR because they may be able to get British Passport if its thats the case and be exempt from needing a visa.

Hi Thank you so much for the reply Londoner007.
Yes, My child was born after my ILR in India. My wife is filling in her form as settlement child. Is the application different for the child to be eligible for british passport or ILR?

No. Indian born child is not eligible for a
British passport nor Indefinite Leave (
D-ECC.1.1.).

Thank you for the reply Vinny.
Would anyone help me out with the documents needed to submit for settlement wife and settlement child? Do we need to show savings as well as income?
Thanks in advance.

Hi moderaters and other users.
I would be grateful if there is more input on the comment above. I may be over thinking, but any successful cases where settlement wife and settlement child paid IHS using the number 1 option?
Please I am running out of time to make the application. Help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

Dear fellow members.
I am applying from india for settlement wife and settlement child. My daughter is born in India and is more than one year old. My husband is in the UK on ilr since Feb 2017.
On the vfs online application form I have put down my daughter as my dependent and will be travelling with me. I have now completed the form and on to the ihs link. My question is should I click on apply alone or enter the UK with dependent? If i click on apply alone it gives me exactly what I need to pay. Confused as my daughter has a separate application.
Also I have got all original supporting documents to go with my application , will my daughter's application need original as well or provide or could i just give photocopy and mention a link to my application?
Hope someone would be able to help me.
