Are you applying for Irish naturalisation? If so, your passport would be returned back to you within 3 to 6 weeks (max) from the date you post your application.

I got mine back after 10 days from submittal.

I applied 7 weeks ago and still have not received mine or any other acknowledgement back.
Contacted them...I know it has been delivered but have a slight worry my application has gone astray or as yet unprocessed as when I contacted them with my info...they asked me for my postal tracking number(confirmed as delivered) yet couldn't they just type my name D.O.B or any other details and find me in the system without asking for tracking number..

When I applied in march it took less than two week for me to get my passport back, but as Hello001 said, it could take 6 weeks, so I would take that into account...
