Strange that none of the mainstream media outlets in Ireland or the US are reporting more on this, if true it will help a lot of Irish people currently undocumented in the US and others here that want to immigrate there but at the moment with the current US administration policy on immigration I wouldn't be too excited about it.

Yes, that's what makes me suspicious about it. Not a single US official is named.

E3 Visas vs. US Retirees

Post by Ximon » Mon Dec 03, 2018 6:55 pm

Anyone have any inside information of the negotiations to lower the requirements for US retirees to Ireland in exchange for Irish access to the US E3 visa scheme? The Irish press has reported that a deal was struck earlier this year but I have not read any reports, official or otherwise, of the details. Now that the E3 bill is being held up in the US Senate, this deal may never happen but I am still hoping to find out what Ireland was willing to offer.

@PasadenaTom moderator merged the topics. My post was from the end of October, obviously is now all over the news since the bill is set to go to the US Senate.

max307, you are helping me make my point. None of the links you shared provide any detail about the deal for US retirees. Who is negotiating on their behalf? Its all for show and retirees will get thrown under the bus.
