Re: Spouse visa-VFS barcode separator for each bundle of evidence

Post by bigben1982 » Wed Oct 24, 2018 5:21 pm

Hi Londoner007/other experts of forum team,

Would it be advisable or necessary to use barcode separator as quoted in VFS website to separate each category of bundle?

My Mrs just submitted her biometrics at VFS. She is not sending the supporting documents through them.

Can we use those barcode separators to send documents to Sheffield from UK? Please kindly advice me.

No, just arrange all support documents loosely in a logical order, such as relationship. finance, accommodation etc.

Dont try to be neat and start stapling, using highlighters and all those nonsense, which will actually p off the UKVI sorting team and ECO.

Barcodes are for when scanning service is used at the VFS.

In my view using barcode separator is far better than designing self made ones because they really keep the documents well arranged. Since they are offered by local vfs office so Sheffield office will acknowledge them too.

Re: Spouse visa-married name changed document not sent

Post by bigben1982 » Tue Oct 30, 2018 11:40 am

Hi forum experts,

I have sent the documents bundle already to Sheffield.
Just a question popped up in my mind about married name of my wife.

We haven't submitted any proof for married name change after marriage.

She didn't do anything to change her name.First document she got with the married name is passport. To get the passport, authorities just requested married certificate. She got my first name as her surname. It's quite common practise to add husband's first name as surname after wedding in back home.

Will it cause any issues for not submitting any name change evidence? She just mentioned in the cover letter written by her that wholeheartedly she accepted my first name as her surname after marriage.

Please note married certificate sent to Sheffield which was attested by the foreign ministry back home and legalised by consulate general in UK.

Please kindly advice me what to do next?

I am really worried :(.

This is why it is best advised not to change any names etc until after gaining entry clearance or even attaining ILR.

Should be ok - nothing you can do but wait for a decision.

Marriage certificate itself a proof of name change and if passport matches with it then it should be fine. But name on TB and English test must also matches with passport.

Thanks Londoner007 and Seagul.

Passport&TB certificate matched with married name because processed after marriage.

UKNARIC documents showing her maiden name because it was processed prior to marriage.
Therefore attached my Mrs birth certificate English translation aswell.

Stop worrying, it's all been submitted there is nothing that can be done now. You have even explained it in the cover letter so I think you are over thinking.

All the best for a approval.

Hi BigBen, I sent in the combined documentation (from UK) of my SE-Asian wife's same-basis as yours application on the same day as you 30-Oct. Best of luck with your application, you certainly seemed to approach it with great diligence. I shall be following this topic to see how you get on. Best wishes J-GB

Re: Spouse visa-Awaiting time before making first contact with UKBA for visa update

Post by bigben1982 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 3:15 pm

Seriously it feels like a long time I have been waiting for visa decision.

Forum experts,
Could you please tell me how long I should wait before making a contact with UKBA for an update on spouse visa non priority application?

No updates from UKBA since they received my application last week.
