you cannot apply upliftment factor on your indian basic earned during your stay in UK. However, if you have earned anything before you came to UK and that period is within your earning claimed period, then you can apply upliftment factor on your indian earning.

For example, your earning claim period is 1-apr-07 to 31-mar-08 and say, you have come to uk on 1-jan-08. Then your Indian earning between 1-apr-07 and 31-dec-07 can be uplifted, but ur Indian income from 1-jan-08 cannot be uplifted. If you have come to UK before 1-apr-07, then your earning in India cannot be uplifted. During ur stay in UK, you can combine your Indian earning with your UK allowance without any upliftment.

Hi,

I work for an indian tech company and currently I am in the UK on an onsite assingnment.
I get a UK allowance approx 2000 GBP pm and indian basic salary 15,000 INR.
Just wanted to know since the basic salary is earned in india and in indian rupees, will the uplift ratio of 5.5 be applicable inspite of me being in Uk presently?

Logically it makes sense but not sure how the caseworker thinks..

Honest advise appreciated.

reg this time update on bia website, my frnd called them up and was told that it means that apps recd between those dates are being assigned to CW. So it can take anything between 3-6 weeks after that. So I assume tht mine was assigned to CW last week. Hopefully I will hear from them mid June

right - the applications between those dates are being assigned to CW. What about applications received prior to that date - are they already decided or just lying with the CWs?

This information seems to be more for work permit applications - though it says including tier 1 - are we sure it means fresh Tier 1 applications ???? When i called up CC this morning , i was said we need to wait till 50 working days !!! ( i assume many are being told 10 weeks , which is 50 working days )

Thanks for updating list Shivaa. I called the Home office few minutes ago. They said that my application is Still in the queue. They said that it was just entered into the system on May 10th.

The lady said that the good news about that is that I am half way through the process. But I don't know what to think anymore. They told me that I could wait up to 10 weeks but not definate.

I don't know what to think anymore. I am not expecting it for this week. We are only left with tomorrow and Friday.

The good point is that the lady at Home Office said that once it is appointed a case worker. It doesn't take long.

But I cant believe that my application is still in the queue waiting to be appointed to a caseworker. I sent it in from April 29, 2008. How long is that? Can all this be true? I don't know what to believe. I guess they must REALLY BE BUSY AT THE HOME OFFICE.


Hope the rest of you hear from them soon. Hope you get good news. Plesae share the good news with the rest of us and GIVE US SOME HOPE.
