ILR application - Work permit check while it's processed

Hi, as I am a contractor, my agency needs to check that I have submitted an application for ILR. They said they need a letter from Home Office confirming the application has been received. My friend did it a few months ago, and she said she never received a confirmation letter, only a letter when the application was processed, 6 months later. Can someone tell me if Home office sends such letters?

What visa are you currently on? Does it restrict you from working at a new employer?

Hi,
Yes HO send acknowledgement letter within a week of applying under old system.
