I have the minimum 2800 pounds in my salary account.
For maintenance requirement is it that 2800 pounds should be consistently present in your account for sometime or just the balance at the time of application should be more than 2800 pounds.
My last salary (credited on april 1st ) was around 1 lacs due to the annual bonus.
Will this be a problem as they say huge funds should be deposited just before applying for EC?
Thanks in advance for your help.
your payslip should have the calculation right ? then it should not be a problem.

Hi Monish,
EC processing time depends on which country you are applying from.
In India now it takes from 15 to 20 working days and more if your applying a fresh Tier 1 application.
But i think your best bet is to call the UK visa office in Swiss and ask them .
As you are a indian national ,you can also apply from india itself.
I hope this helps.

Hi folks,
The Maintenance fund requirement for EC from india is 2800 pounds minimum maintained for 3 months .
This rule is relaxed for applicants from UK till june 29th.Its really unfair this is still not relaxed in india so far.
I think this will be a real problem for Applicants in india who already have HSMP approval letters as they cant wait for 3 more months .
Any suggestions on how we can address and appeal to the high commission.

Dear Friends
I got my HSMP approval on March 2008 and I had applied for EC on April 9th 2008.
I have seen, most of the people are specifying their Intergra status in this forum.
I tried to check my application status from the site
https://www.vfs.org.in/ApplicantStatus.aspx
But everytime it displays, "Your application forwarded to BHC on April 9th 2008".
Can you please help me to get the exact status of my EC?
Thanks
Premkumar

Hi piyush,
From now onwards you need to fill the new forms VAF9a and vaf9b .
But be cautious of the new maintenance requirement of 2800 pounds minimum maintained for 3 months.

Thanks for your reply!!!!!!
It is very bad that now I have to take a loan from any bank and then wait for the next three months as I do not 2800+1600+1600 GBP in my account.
But it is very foolish rule, I really do not understand the policy of BHC behind this. Why should I wait for 3 months time keeping that money in my acount.
Can we do any appeal to BHC for this???
Please HELP!!!

Hi All,
@piyush ,i think you wait for some more time, as BHC 'might' announce
the same relaxation of rule as for UK applicants till june 29th.
But i think from our side we should send our concerns to BHC only then they will act.
Check this article about discrimination against indians applying for tier 1.
http://www.indiaprwire.com/pressrelease ... 218942.htm
I have mailed the same concern to BHC .
I would request all of those affected to send a email to BHC requesting the same relaxation of rule as for UK applicants till june 29th.

Will be grateful if someone can provide the list of documents they have submitted to support an EC application from India under the HSMP transitional arrangements (with HSMP approval letter).
The VFS website doesn't give any information about supporting documents for the various types of visas. The BHC website also no longer provides ANY information on visas except saying that visa services are now handled by VFS.
Thanks in advance.
regards

Hi Britimmig
Can you please provide me with the mail id of the BHC so that i too can mail my grievance regarding the funds to be there in my savings account for 3 months?
Its a foolish rule and may be they dont want indians to come over to UK to that extent possible...
Still as you said, we shall mail them on this.
I've got my approval on 29th march and need to apply for EC.
Regards,
Satheesh

Thanks Prem,
All my details are same as you apart from the maintenance, i have not maintained the funds for 3 months.I have maintained only for 1 month during my time of application and it is 2 months now.But i have applied from chennai and used VAF2.Since i was using the VAF2 form i thought i will fall under the old rule and no need to maintain the funds for 3 months
My dates are
Applied in Chennai VFS : 21 April
Let see what happens now....
Many Thanks

Hi Prem,
do you have any idea regarding showing FD's for Fund Requirement?
Can FD be shown for Maintainence Fund requirement?. Some of the posts say that FD can be used, but they should not be bound by any maturity period. But normally FD's have a maturity period. Or does it mean that the applicant should be able to withdraw it at any time? Any idea regarding this?
