Tier 2 marrying UK Citizen

Post by SarahKing » Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:20 pm

Hello, I hold a Tier 2 visa and registered my intention to marry at a HO approved registry office. I was made aware of the Marriage Referral process and today received my letter that the HO will not investigate and it seems pretty straight forward. However there is a line that says 'You must obtain the appropriate marriage or civil partnership visa before the ceremony goes ahead'. My Tier 2 Visa is not due to end prior to our intended date of marriage, does this sentence apply to me as I hold a valid Tier 2 Visa? Or is there another request/visa i must obtain while here?
Many thanks
Sarah

It is a generic letter. Fine to marry while holding a tier 2.

Hi there Sarah,

Please may i ask how long did the HO take to decide whether they would investigate?

Cheers,
Beth
