Hi guys,
Just called HO as it has been more than 28 days. Was answered by a kind gentleman who checked the ref number and confirmed the application has been assigned to a caseworker. it will normally take 6 wks from date of submission and therefore we asked if we only had 2 more weeks to go, to which he said Yes!. Hopefully we'll hear within the timeframe although that would mean we still wont make it to France for friend's wedding but at least the big trip on 22nd June (for sister's wedding) we might be able to make it. He also mentioned that once it is with caseworker, it shouldn't take very long

please keep updating ....and let us know if any approvals today plz

Hi all,

Thats what the HO always say. If I call them today then they will tell me something different. But I just can't bother to call them just a waste of time.

Any news today. Anyone got their documents yet.

I have been keeping a look out for the mail man. I am just about tired and will get some rest.

Keep the HOPE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tired of waiting finally called HO.. They say application is still with caseworker and in process. So I think something will come out only next week...
Going by the queue and the dates others got documents, I was expecting to see something on this monday onwards but now still seems to be far...

HI

Tomorrow is a new day so keep the HOPE ALIVE. IT may arrive tomorrow -Friday or Saturday???????

Postman came today but no such luck or documents.

I am supposed to be on holiday but can't enjoy it because of this long wait.

Also, very nervous that I have long wait since application not assigned to caseworker yet. Application sent from April 30.

Anyways, Keep the HOPE ALIVE.

Hi beever, headley, (and other who have applied around 28th April)...

Here is my status:
Applied through Consultant in UK: 28th April
Reference Letter received by Consultant: 29th April
Reference Number: PB30370*****
Decision: Awaiting :?:

Called HO yesterday. They said that it is under consideration. Asked whether it is in queue or it has been assigned to CW..the lady said she cannot tell me that  .

Even my Consultant called them yesterday. This is what HO replied:
"that they will not provide updates for HSMP or Tier 1 (General) applications within 14 weeks of the date of submission"...

Will call again probably today to confirm the same.

Best of luck to all......

Cheerz,

Possible Reasons for low number of approvals

Post by kmore97 » Thu May 29, 2008 3:12 pm

There are few possible Reasons for low number of approvals -
Fewer working days in this week as Monday was bank holiday. As the mid term holidays are on in school, many staffs in HO are on leave.

These might have be possible reasons of fewer approvals in this week.

Hi again,

Thank you everyone. Hope you got yours soon.

I have a question. Anyone who switched from WP to Tier 1 pls help.
As I mentioned, I have got the Tier 1 visa on my passport
but the previous WP one is also still there,
Do we need to do anything with it? Do we need to inform WP office? or just leave it there?

Thanks in advance.

micabyte..no need to do anything..leave the WP as it is.. I use to have two valid WP on my passport (because HO never cancelled the first WP) . I never had any problem in immigration because i always explain them why there are two.
When i applied for HSMP then HO realized that i have got two valid WP, and they wrote on my WP’s that superseded by HSMP visa.

Hi All - I have got another good news to share. My wife also applied for tier 1 a day after mine. She only got her paper work back last Saturday. Timeline as follows:

Type of application: Student to TIER 1
Application Sent: 08/4/2008 (royal mail special delivery)
Payment taken: 09/4/2008
Ref no dated: 09/4/2008
Status: Approved
Stamped on: will need to check
Received on: 24/5/2008

Till 14th May she was told it is not assigned. Then 19th she was told under consideration. On 23rd, after digging as her existing visa expired on 30th May, she was told we have sent it today and you should get it soon.

Hope this information helps for those who have been waiting for longer than 6 weeks. All the best to those who are waiting.

The reference letter is usually issued on the same day that your payment is cleared but when does one receive it is dependent on whether it is to be delivered within UK or outside UK. Please note that it is sent using 2nd class post in UK and general airmail post for outside UK.

As I understand that it, they do not send reference number by email even if you tell them that you haven't received one.

First check if your payment has been cleared (call card company if paid by card). If the payment has gone through and it's been 4-5 days since the clearance, call them now if you are in UK. If outside UK, wait for a few more days and call them if you still don't receive the letter.

HI zaheer77,

I don't think you should worry. I sent my application on the 29th April and it got to the HO on 30th April. They took over a week plus some more days to send the reference number.

Dont worry because if you sent yours on the 17th May which was a weekend it probably took them some time to get it in their hands since HO do not work on weekends????? Remember that for us waiting we lost a day on Monday since it was holiday.

My best guess is you might hear something tomorrow about your refernce number or if not early next week???????? assuming that you are in the UK???????????

Hope you hear good news soon.

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!

Remember KEEP HOPE ALIVE
