British Passport for new born - Father holds ILR

Post by NL2UK » Fri Nov 16, 2018 1:40 am

Team,

Need your help. I am in the process of planning to apply for British Passport for my new born child. I am her father and holding UK ILR.

Could you please let me know your views on below questions?

1) Is my child applicable for british passport as I hold an UK ILR?
2) What should I select as answer to question (Section number 5) : Certificate or Registration or naturalisation?
3) What all supporting documents do I need to submit along with passports (Or me & Wife) and original copy of my UK ILR (Which is printed in the old passport).

1) Yes, if child was born in the UK.
2) No.
3) Include evidence that at least one parent has ILR when child was born in the UK.

Thank you Vinny.

I will then be submitting below documents as supporting docs for my baby girl's british passport :-

1) My passport (New & Old one with ILR stamping) -- Original passport copies
2) My Wife passport and Visa copy (She owns ICT Tier 2) -- Is this required to be submitted?
3) My daughters birth certificate original copy.
4) Fully filled form collected from Post Office
5) 2 passport photos of my baby girl.

Hope, these documents should suffice.. or Do I need to submit employment letter, bank / salary statements or mine and my wife?

Number 2 is not required as your spouse doesn't hold ILR.

Thank you Char.

Also, no documents related to my work/employment? Just passport with copy of ILR (All original docs) should suffice?
