The spouse of a BC does still need to have either ILR or PR status as well, which generally takes a minimum of five years anyway.zindagi03 wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 11:33 pmin Q#2 it is stated that if main applicant became BC after spending 5 years in UK, then his/her spouse automatically became spouse of BC disregard the visa category he/ she have previously. so then He/she can apply BC after spendig 3 yrs in uk not 5 years .
Yes you can if you have not spent more than 270 days in the last 3 years and 90 days in the past 12 months outside the UK before applying.zindagi03 wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 5:12 amMany thanks for guidance.
I got ILR last week on the basis of PBS dependent visa after 5 years, as my wife already became British citizen in 2017 by Tier1 General category.
My main concern is that i have more than 500 absences from 2013 til 2016. But from feb 2016
I spent only 252 days outside UK
So can i apply British citizenship under the rule of (section 6(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981) by spending only 3 years in UK, on behalf of my wife?.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Regards,
Masood
Yes, either passport or naturalization certificate plus marriage certificate. If you apply through council, you keep your original documents.
No there is not at this time.So my question is , Is there any other way I can apply for both?
