Someone I know applied for FLR FP in the summer. It was rejected as invalid for the entirely wrong reason that applications made by a person in detention must be made in person and not by post (she has never been detained). After this was pointed out, they asked her to resubmit the application. It was rejected again as invalid because they did not accept the request for a fee waiver.
While preparing to send a third time, she got a call ftom the Home Office asking her to send passports and birth certificates for herself and family members. Then she got a letter for biometrics, and today received BRP for 30 months!
This all seems slightly odd to me, as their position had been that no valid application had bern received or considered.
The background is that the applicant was a failed asylum seeker in the country for 11 years, living with partner with refugee ILR from a different home country, and they got two kids.
Any thoughts on this?
