Whatsapp Chat translation required?

Post by nemo999 » Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:32 pm

Hi,

Me and My partner chat in English on WhatsApp / Social Media.

Sometimes , we also use native language BUT type those words using English alphabets during our WhatsApp / Social Media conversation.

Do they need to be translated to English ?

I have been following some other Facebook forums and someone said they got rejection because of that.

The person also mentioned that the guideline has been recently updated and WhatsApp / Facebook messages needs to be translated , like any other document in foreign language.

Do we need to provide translation ? Has anyone come across such guideline ?

(hi Admin, This isnt a personal question so I have not merged in last posts)

From now onward you should try to chat in English which may show a good sign regarding English language. Don't try to edit now by translating the old none-English chat because mostly they don't read them.

It doesn't matter what language you speak in. They only care that you regularly communicate. There's no requirement that you have to only communicate in English.

Chatting in English although not necessary but indeed helpful for caseworker if sometime they inclined to read them. It may also give a positive impression about the applicant's proficiency in English language.

That's what I believe. These proofs are needed to show that the communication exists and marriage /relationship is STILL subsisting, language should not matter.

We have chosen to show the screenshots where communication is mostly English.

No. Attach as much as you can but from now onward use English in chat.

I agree with segul about english language can show content of message i.e. make it easier to establish genuine relationship, but not strictly required to only submit messages in english. I have seen many many applications where all chat logs were in Urdu, Hindi, Bengali and they were approved.

The chat logs are huge, we can not provide everything, else it will be bigger than application itself.

What we are doing is, providing screenshots of chat from each week for last 20 months.

eg,

3 screenshots from 7th June
3 screenshots from 14th June
3 screenshots from 27th June
3 screenshots from 8th July
3 screenshots from 14th July and so on.

This shows communication was there regular over a period of 20 months or so. We also have Lebara telephone log and Skype screenshots and emails to show communication (which is on top of online gift receipts, money transfer receipts etc)

Good call. Looks like you have plenty of proofs to submit.
