Maintenance Funds

Post by walldorfian » Sat May 24, 2008 7:22 am

Dear Friends,

I am applying for Tier-1 from India. Please help me understand the maintanence funds requirement.

At this point, I understand it is sufficient to have 2800 GBP in your account at the time of applying.

Also, Is there a template for requesting the Maintanence Funds letter from the Bank?.

Best Regards
Indian

Have you read the policy guidance? What should be included in the letter from bank as evidence of maintenance funds is given there.

The topic is already being discussed on the forum.

Read the policy guidance notes and check http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin ... intenance/

Maintanance Letter

Post by Tibu » Tue May 27, 2008 2:49 pm

i am planning to apply for EC in the month of June.
SO today i have gone to Bank(ICICI) for getting a letter from Bank as a proof for maintanance...
They are saying they wont issue a letter of this sort.

1. Can anyone tell me whether we will get a letter from bank like this ?

2. Is it needed or can i just show my bank statement as a proof for Maintainance...?

regards
Thomas...

Hi,

I have a question: To show the maintenance funds of 2800GBP,for 3 months...should this be in our salary account/savings account???? or will a fixed deposit??

I'm confused, as I read in the rules that the Personal bank A/C should show the receipt of funds along with regular withdrawals from the account. ...This is urgent, pls...!

As already suggested above, please search the forum for answers related to maintenance funds .... all this (and much more) has been answered in detail.

The information is available .... so have the courtesy to look for it yourself.

regards

The PBS guidance note says:

1. Personal bank or equivalent statements covering the 3 month period immediately preceding the application.
The personal bank or equivalent statements should clearly show:

The applicant’s name;
The account number;
The date of the statement;
The financial institution’s name and logo;
Transactions covering the three month period;
That there are sufficient funds present in the account i.e. the balance must always be at least £2800/£800;
The receipt of funds along with regular withdrawals from the account, where appropriate.

If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account these must contain all of the details listed above. In addition, the applicant will need to provide a supporting letter from their bank, on company headed paper, confirming the authenticity of the statements provided.

Statements which simply show the balance in the account on a particular day are not sufficient.
