hello friends

I would like to apply for Tier 1 in this month. First time iam applying for Tier 1 and also iam a student in UK. i read in home office website abt tier 1
under Tier 1 maintaince funds, it is showing that those who are applying for tier 1 from UK, You can show only 800 pounds balance for three months before 29 june 2008.
No need to show 2800 pounds balance for maintance funds? who are applying before 29 june 2008 from UK?
In the guidance, it is showing transitional arrangements for maintanance funds for tier 1 general applicant
i dont know what do u mean by transitional arrangements
since iam a student in UK and first time applying for tier1 whether it is applicable to me or not if u apply before 29 june 2008.
please advice me

is this true to show only 800 pounds before 29 june 2008 who are applying for tier 1
experts please advice abt maintance funds who are applying for tier 1 from UK before 29 june 2008

iam waiting for ur valuable suggestions and ideas

Read this as to why people request you to not post the same question in multiple places http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=5722

And learn to repsect the opinions of people whose advice / suggestions / help you are seeking. They can advise you because they are more expierenced than you are in the matter .... and that calls for some courtesy i.e.- listening to them.

No wonder you are .. applying for a "highly skilled" category.

Because you haven't read the guidance notes carefully.

What does your intelligence say? Is BIA lying??

My sincere suggestion to you is that you read the guidance notes carefully.

Karthik,

just show £800 in your latest account statement for 3 months as balance and you are fine if you are applying before 29th june 2008.

Hi meer

Iam bit confused abt ur reply, so iam asking in brief if u dont mind

we can show £800 as an account balance for total 3 months ie together or

we have to show £800 as account balance for 3 months separately ie in each month account balance

pls clarify my doubt

thanks in advance

This is what's on the policy:

Because this is a new requirement and it may be difficult to prove this
immediately, we have put transitional arrangements in place for applicants and their family members submitting their applications within the United Kingdom up to and including 29 June 2008. Up to 29 June 2008, you do not have to show you have had the funds for at least three months before your application. You must only show you have the required funds at the time you apply. The types of documents you need to send to support your application are detailed on p21 of this document. Until 29 June 2008, they do not need to cover the three-month period, but they must be dated no more than a month before your application. For example, if you apply under Tier 1 (General) on 12 June 2008, a single bank statement with a closing balance of £800 dated between 12 May 2008 and 12 June 2008 will meet the maintenance requirements. A bank statement dated before 12 May 2008 will not be acceptable.

Good luck!

Karthik143,

Its true that you are worried about yourself only but even then it does not entitle you to resort to tactics/behaviour which are generally not acceptable on the board. This board is a collective effort and extremely rich in information but this has remained so by orderly behaviour and self imposed guidelines. Being respectful to others does not hurt. And board members are really helpful, as you might have noticed from the fact that you got a response to your query despite uncalled for ranting from you.

Kind regards,
