Spouse VISA - Does the online application form need to be signed when sending to Sheffield?

Post by mrtylar » Fri Nov 30, 2018 1:36 pm

Hi,
I am applying for a spouse VISA for my wife, who is in India. From my understanding, my wife needs to take the printed application form, passport & UK passport picture to the biometrics appointment in India.

I am planning to send all the supporting documents to Sheffield, to the address below from the UK:
Settlement Applications
International Operations and Visas
PO Box 5852
Sheffield
United Kingdom
S11 0FX

When I am sending the supporting documents do I need to:
  1. Include the printed online application form. If yes, does it need to be signed by my wife? (can she scan it and send it to me or does it need to be original?)
  • I am including 2 UK passport size photos of my wife in the supporting documents, does this need to be signed by wife?
  • Is the above address the correct one to send the supporting documents to?
Thanks

For Bio-metrics appointment they only take following docs:

- Appointment letter
- Passport
- 2x passport copies
- Printed online application to only show
- Payment receipt

Your spouse should then send you all their support documents their support docs e.g TB certificate, appendix 2 etc to you in UK, then you add your stuff like payslips etc then send the whole file directly to Sheffield from within UK.

1. Preferably it should be original with applicant's signature

2. Yes. On its back write down her name & date of birth

3. Yes. Use royal mail special delivery

Sending photocopy bundle along with original to Sheffield

Post by mrtylar » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:38 pm

Hi,

I am applying for spousal VISA for my wife who is in India. I am almost ready to send the supporting documents to Sheffield but I read somewhere that UKIV expects original documents of everything aswell as photocopies of everything that you send. Is this true?

Do I effectively need to send one bundle of originals and another that is photocopies of everything in the original bundle?

Thanks

You heard wrong, there is no need to send photocopies of everything.

Preferably photocopy the key documents to keep with you for your own record.
