Applying for a PBS dependant when main applicant extension is in progress

Hi,

My wife is on ICT tier 2 and her visa validity is till Jan 2019. She is has applying for an extension. Would I be able to simultaneously apply for a PBS dependant or need to wait till she gets her visa extended ?

You can apply at the same time.

Could you also let me know if I apply now, the validity of the visa would be limited to my main applicant's current visa or as per the new PBS generated(for the extension).

Your visa will be issued with the same duration and validity of your partners visa if you apply at the same time.

If you apply now, it will expire on the same date your partners current visa expires, i.e January. A PBS Dependent cannot have a visa valid for longer than the the main PBS visa holder except where the main visa holder is granted ILR.

That is where i have the confusion... when saying applying together, we should apply the extension and PBS dependant together? That would create the dependant visa with the new validity?

If the main ICT applicant applies for an extension, you apply at the same time or afterwards (up to you) and the dependent will get the same visa validity as the main ICT visa holder, regardless of when you apply.

What exactly is it that you are finding 'confusing'??

Apologies for not clarifying earlier. I am currently on a Ter2 ICT and would be switching to dependant.
Anyways, i think i got the idea. I can apply for my dependant visa along with the extension filing for my wife and we both would get the visa with the renewed validity.
