U.S Citizen and SSN

If one was to come into the country when he or she was a baby, and then a few years later he or she receives an SSN...what does this mean, that that person is a USC or not a USC??

If this does not show or prove citizenship (receiving the SSN) then why have they got one in the first place? or how did one get one in the first place?

I'm curious...

What exactly is your question? SSN does not prove citizenship.

well duhhhhhh noot everyone is entitled to an ssn!!!!so how could one have one if he or she is NOT a usc!!!!

Well people who cant spell and use infantile language are barred from receiving SSN's. I have an unrestricted SSN and I am not a citizen.

There is absolutely no requirement that a person be a citizen, or even be admitted legally to this country, in order to have a Social Security Number.

If a person is illegally in the country, their card will state, "Not Valif for Employment".

Social security numbers are used as identification numbers by many banks, social service agencies and for tax purposes.
