Feb 2005 applicant - approved in 7 days

Post by peter_hsmp_2005 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 9:02 pm

Hi all

I received my HSMP approval yesterday! 8)

Hopefully some of my information will prove useful for others:

* Application received by Home Office - 24 February 2005
* Date on approval letter - 2 March 2005
* Case number: 03601X

So, 7 days in total! I'm not in a shortage occupation, so I guess I either got very lucky, or otherwise the "ringfencing" rumours are true (ie two teams, one to deal with recent applications and one to deal with the older ones).

Many thanks to all those who have posted on this forum, it's been an invaluable source of information!

Happy to answer any questions if that's useful for anyone ... :D

G'Day Pete!

Congrat's on your success - you must be very happy! I submitted my application last Thursday (10th) and the credit card processed on the 11th. Will keep you posted as I am very nervous at the moment!

Can you remind me (and everyone else) if you were a In/Out Country applicant, nationality and what you claimed and what was approved?

Thanks and all the best!

Hi

Yes, very happy - but mostly just relieved because like you I was also very nervous!

I was an out of country applicant (New Zealander). I don't know what points I was awarded, because the approval letter just said "approved" without going into more detail. But I claimed 90 points:

* 5 points for age
* 15 points for education (Bachelor's level degrees)
* 25 points for work experience (2 years)
* 35 points for earnings (income band 2)
* 10 points for my wife's education/work experience

Best of luck for your application :)

Congrats, Peter.

Did they send you a letter or email confirming receipt of your application, and giving you a reference number?

If so, did that letter mention that they were currently working on June 2004 applications?

If not, how did you get your reference number (03601X)?

Thanks!

Hi

Yes, I received an email notifying me that my application had been received, and that email also allocated me a reference number (full text of the email is below). They didn't mention anything about June 2004 applications
Dear applicant

I can confirm that we have received your application on 24/02/2005 and you
have been allocated the reference number 03601X. Please quote this reference
in any correspondence with the HSMP team.

Kind Regards

Hi Peter.
Thanks for the imformation. Looks like your application was a few days after i sent mine, so although i have been told a decision was made and my letter and documents sent back, i never did receive the confirmation or the refernce letter. Now i wanted to know did you post directly to Shefield or Doncaster? Andi wonder why do they send refernce numbers to some applicants and others they don't.

They are just that fast! I posted to Doncaster as per the instructions. They processed my payment there straight away, and must have sent it to Sheffield for evaluation very quickly.

No idea unfortunately. I assume you filled in the part of the form that asked for confirmation of receipt? If so I would have thought they'd just send you a reference number.

Lucky,

Why dont you call them and ask for the decision?
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star.

I was thinking about calling them but does anyone know the real number to call. I do not seem to see it any where?

it's 0114 259 1894, the greeting they use when they open the phone is "HSMP", I think it's the real number. You'll have to redial at least a few times though, that's for sure.
