United Kingdom experience

Post by hbadami » Sat May 10, 2008 1:43 am

Hi
In order to get 5 points for my united kingdom experience, i am planning to claim points based on previous earnings. On the home office site
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... gdomstudy/ it says
You are awarded five points if you are applying for permission to enter the United Kingdom (known as 'leave to enter'), and £16,000 or more of your previous earnings that you are claiming points for were earned in the United Kingdom.
The problem is that I am on a work permit in the UK. I am not sure if I am applying for permission to enter the UK (known as 'leave to enter'). In my case will the points be awarded.

UK experience query

Post by shashank2361 » Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:22 am

Hi

I am in UK from Nov 2007 to JUne 2008 , I am getting Indian salary paid in India and Uk allowance here, I got INR 204474 paid in INDIA and GBP 14329 paid in UK

If i convert indian earnings to UK i am getting GBP 2350.27 in India
and total of 2350.27 + 14329 = GBP 16680, I am having more than 16000 pounds required for UK experience

My query is that can I claim UK experience points if I am including the salary paid in India for the duration I was in UK.

Cut and Paste from the BIA site.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... xperience/

"If this is an initial application, you can score five points for United Kingdom experience if:
you have successfully scored points under previous earnings for
earnings in the United Kingdom; or
you have been in full-time study in the United Kingdom for at least one
full academic year, and have been awarded a qualification at
bachelor'sdegree level or above.

If this is an extension application, you can only score points for previous earnings and not qualifications.

Previous earnings; Your earnings must be earned in the United Kingdom,
at least £16,000."

Best of luck.
