German Married to a Philippina Living in Ireland

Post by StefanPL » Mon Jun 02, 2008 11:41 am

Hi there,

i am a bit confused, i looked through all the Topics, but nothing really
that matches my situation.

I am married to a Filippina since September 2007 and also lived for nearly a year in the Philippines, now i am back since March 2008 and
work here again (worked here already for 5 Years before) and would
like to apply for a Spouse Visa for my wife.

I was told different things from the embassy staff and the immigration here and it makes really no sense for me anymore, i know that according to EU Law i have the right to get my wife here and now its already so long
that i did not see her and the irish authorities really dont help me a bit as everyone i call tells me something different.

I was told by a friend about this forum and i would like to have some advise what to do to get her a Spouse Visa and tips how to make sure that they will also grant that visa.

Would be greatful for any advise that you can give me.

Thank You

Stefan

Your case seems to be similar to mime, my husband is from EU and I myself am from Asia.
I suppose your case is exactly the case of "prior residency" issue.
if I understand correctly, you two lived in Philippines immediately before coming to Ireland. Then the problem is what is going on in EU court.
You can get a lot of information just by reading the posts in this forum.
Sorry for not great help.
