10 YEAR LONG RESIDENCY GAPS

Post by prameshks1 » Thu Jun 05, 2008 7:25 am

Hi

I am appplying for ILR on this June 2008 on te basis of 10 years. I am hearing rumours about the gaps in 10 years. I havent applied for extension after the expiry of my visda. I normally send 2-3 weeks before the expiry. I couldnt find out, if there will be any gaps. Once my visa expired on 31st Aug 2006. I made an application on 18th Aug, received a letter on 28th Aug that my payement didnt go through and gave me a time for 28 days to re send. I send it on 28th Aug and got the acknowledgement letter dated 1st Sept 2006. As my visa expired on 31st Aug and received a letter dated 1st Sept, will they consider that one day gap. Please let me know as soon as possible. I have all the old letters as a proof.

Why did the payment not go through? If it was your lack of funds you might have a problem. If it was bank mistake and u can prove it different matter.

And does it say on the form or guidance notes that they don't accept Solo?

I would think that this can be argued as a refusal and hence, you were protected by Section 3C. Thus, no gap.
