Please advice: Offer accepeted but project cancelled

Post by netacct » Wed Jun 04, 2008 9:39 pm

Hi All,

I received an offer from a reputable company and they are in the process of doing reference check. No joining date is fixed yet.
Offer made on 29 May 08.

However, today they called me and said that the project for which I was selected is canceled and if I join them there may not be any work. I may simple sit there. They said, offer is still there and they will honor it but they are OK if I continuing other options.

I simply don;t know what to do in this situations. whether to join them or not.

I have no other offers/interview at this stage and I had already canceled other interviews and told agencies/companies that I have accepted an offer.

Those experienced, what would you suggest me to do in this situation?

Even I start looking again, it will take at least few weeks.

As long as you are getting money, it should not matter, whether you get desired job early or late.

Not really, without work for long, you are gonna laid off and/or demotivated.

finally managed to get another offer but no that attractive...
its less by £7K, which is a lot...
spoke to company again...they said there may not be work but cant guarantee...also said, we wont waste your and our time if we were to make you redundant immediately...

Still undecided
