In the letter, they asked specifically for:

(1) A current, original Police Clearance Cert (with certified translation if not in English) from my home country and any other country I resided in prior to coming to Ireland

(2) for me to indicate whether I have ever been convicted of a criminal offence in Ireland or in any other country I resided in prior to coming to Ireland.

That's all the letter requests and that failure to make full disclosure could result in my application being refused and my permission to remain in the State being revoked.

i dont know about wales, norhtern ireland and england, but i think it would be similiar anyway. i got it done in scotland once. scotland has its own police force. what i done was, gone to the local police station. filled in 2 forms. one for the scottish police and one for scotland yard down in england. after 2 weeks. 2 letters came. one from the scottish police and one from scotland yard in london. it cost 10 pounds. i guess you just go to the local police station in where you residing in uk and get it done there.

good luck

Many thanks. I still haven't heard from DOJ but looks like they will ask for it anyway.

Hi everyone,

Just got word that my LTR has been approved!

I picked up a Registered letter this morning from INIS posted yesterday (93 weeks to the day that I applied in 2006). I am so relieved as the area of work I'm in is downsizing and I was very worried about gettting another job & work permits, etc if I got let go - LTR could not have come at a better time.

Thanks everyone for your responses over the past time about LTR in particular - now onto the citizenship wait!

Regards
Maria
