online application form confusion for family of settled person visa

3 years on and choice of option is still the same, how ridiculous. Seems like enough reason not to proceed with application and leave this country.
I am trying to apply for family of settle person visa for my family (wife and 2 kids) from outside UK. I have ILR and Im in UK.
I understand I need to select:
1. "settlement" under reason for visit (which itself is confusing in my mind, as settlement to me means applying for ILR)
2. "settlement" under visa type
3. "Wife" or shall I choose "Child or other dependent of settled person" under visa subtype (this is really confusing as I am applying for wife and kids)

they need to improve this website or is this way to extract money via mistakes.
please help with this. thanks.

If the wife is the applicant then it's 'Wife'

If the kids arent British then you need to apply for them too under 'Child' category

You will need 3 x Online application + 3 x Appendix 2 completed

forgot to mention this if it make a difference at all.
my son was born in UK but I did not ILR that time. I got my ILR later, I know he is eligible to apply for registration, but we never did it. Do I need to apply his visa in another category?

Up to you. But probably better to apply everyone on same visa that way you do not have some people have get visa before others and have to travel without others.

For example: kid and wife may get spouse visa and will need to enter UK, but other child's registration hasnt gone through yet and cannot travel to UK with family.

I am in the same boat as you are. I and my wife both have ILR and our UK born kids donot have it as I did not apply for them while in the UK. We travelled to India after that and now I am looking for an application to apply for indefinite leave for both my kids and I came across your post.
Were you able to make the application using the explained options and did it all go through well?
Also what documents did you have to use to support your application?

sorry I did not see your post. In short, I have not applied for visas yet. but for your situation i think just get visa for you kids, enter UK and then register with MN1 form. they dont need ILR that is my understanding.

when you say visa, which specific route you mean? because I don't see any visa route for this case except ILE.

ILE is the route for children with two settled parents. Form VAF4A I believe for a child settlement visa.
