I'm doing a dummy SET(O) application on the new UKVCAS website and I'm confused by the questions on this page.
Date you first entered the UK
When did you first enter the UK? (Required)
This is the date you entered the UK when the period of stay you are basing this application on started.
My visa history is this.
Jun-2009 entered UK on Tier 1 General
Jun-2012 switched to Tier 1 Entrepreneur
Dec-2012 left UK for about 18 months
Jun-2014 returned to the UK
What date do I use for the answer on the application page?

Hi Grreg
This will be the Date from which you are claiming the Five Years towards the ILR. I think you are planning ILR from Jun 2014 to June 2019, then the Date you first Entered the UK will be June 2014.

I looked at the old paper application form and it used the following wording:
6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date you entered the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.
I am still feeling unclear but as this question is immediately followed by a table where I can list all my absences from the UK I think you are correct and they are asking me to nominate a start date for the 5 years I have been in the country.

Here is the Answer in the line the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based, means the 5 years start date which you counting towards the ILR.

@Zimba, @CR0001 @Marcnath
I’d be grateful if someone can confirm if I can apply for ILR in Jan-19 or if I need to wait until Jun-19
My visa history is this.
Jun-2009 entered UK on Tier 1 General
Jun-2012 switched to Tier 1 Entrepreneur (in country)
Dec-2012 left UK for about 18 months
Jun-2014 returned to the UK and been here since
Thanks for your help.
