ICT dependent to Tier 2 general

Hi,

I had started my job in London on July 2018 under ICT dependent VISA.

Now my company would be ready to sponser me soon as I have completed my probation.
However since I am existing employee of the company and I understand I will have to apply for this outside of UK (India), what will happen to my job? Will it add complications to my application?

Can I be on leave during that period and resume my work once I receive new VISA or they will have to start new employment contract again for me?
