Employee letter doubt

£704 for Tier 2 dependent extension + £600 IHS fee. 2 dependents make it £2608. Is this not correct!? £1200 addition for IHS if I'm unlucky.

Okay, so my understanding of ILR to British passport process was correct. Just £1330+£82 and no other big application/expense. The discount for children is a good news but £308 becomes a small amount in scheme of £15-20k!

I have far better understanding now than I had until yesterday. Thank you.

I am applying for ILR based on T2G 5 year route. I have received the required support letter from my HR as below:

The nearest applicable SOC code which best describes his employment is 2139.

His current gross salary, which will be paid for the foreseeable future is £36,261 per annum. This is above the appropriate rate for the job as stated in the codes of practice for Tier 2 sponsors.

We can also confirm the following periods and reasons for absences during his employment:

Q1: Is it a problem that they have mentioned "expected end date" and "foreseeable future" in the same line? This is an university which works on the basis of rolling contracts. Its a permanent role, but not permanent.

Q2: My absences were for personal reasons, not work-related. Is this okay?

Q3: It doesn't say "paid annual leave". Does this need to change? Any suggestion?

Questions:
1. Can I apply for ILR using the same day result service on 18-Dec-2018 - given that I can apply up to 28 days before completing 5 years?
2. Is my salary increment comfortably in time? What proof of income do I need to submit? I get payslip at end of each month.
3. Do I need to give Life in UK or any such test for ILR?

1. You can apply WITHIN 28 days, it does not have to be exactly on the 28th day.
2. Is everyone else in the company going to get a £3000 salary increase??
3. Yes and meet the English requirement.

Reg 2: Only a few (of about 6000 employees) will get £3000 increment. I work for a university which follows a nationally agreed scheme for yearly increment. This means that we get exact 'spine point increase' every 1st August. Thus, there will be several people who get an increment, along with very few that may be getting £3000 increment like myself. For example, I will be moving from spine 30 to spine 33 as tabled here: https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/hr/do ... ademic.pdf. There may be additional 1%-2% salary increase with inflation after Aug-18 but before Dec-18...

Should be ok then if your sponsor is able to justify it as a company wide increment increase.

My HR has not updated the SMS with my new salary, nor are they willing to. The salary was increased from £32548 to £36261 on 01-Aug-2018. Can this be a problem?

If it is a normal annual company wide salary review process, then my understanding is that there is no need to update.

However if it was only you that got one, then it must be updated.

I have submitted my ILR application online on 19-Dec-2018 and submitted the biometrics on 21-Dec-2018. The entire process was smooth, although the submission of biometrics took 3 hours altogether at the Birmingham core centre. They said I may get the result in 6-12 weeks.



The Tier 2 G dependent visa for my wife and daughter ends on 14-Jan-2019. They are eligible for ILR on 17-May-2019. I think I have two approaches to their visa renewal.


Approach 1:
Apply for their T2G ext on ~30-Dec-2018 with full IHS and application fees. This will hopefully be granted in Mar/Apr-2019. Thereafter, apply for the ILR on 17-May-2019 (we need ILR soon for future plans).

Pros: Tension-free.
Cons: £2608 extra.


Approach 2:
07-Jan-2019: Pay IHS (although I think it will increase only in Feb 2019)
~14-Jan-2019: Submit T2G ext application (with a covering letter*)
~14-Mar-2019: Submit biometrics (system offers two calendar months)
17-May-2019: Vary the application for ILR (if T2G ext is not already approved)

Pros: Possibility to save £2608
Cons: Unsure of what will be considered as the application date for ILR (14-Jan or 17-May) and the impact of this approach on our mortgage application.

*Covering letter will mention that the (i) T2G ext application is tied to my ILR application, (ii) a humble and succinct request to defer the consideration of this case until 17-May-2019 with an explanation of how we had paid the avoidable visa and IHS fees for my daughter and that the £2608 could go very far towards the deposit of the first home of our growing family. The letter will stress the fact that the caseworker can grant us the T2G ext visa if they reckon this to be the best action.

This request approach has worked for me in the past when the case-worker had put my Tier 4 extension on hold until I get the results for my degree which made me eligible to vary the application for PSW - thus saving a few hundred pounds at that time.



Questions for Approach 2:

1. What will be considered the date of application for ILR if we get an opportunity to vary? Will it be 14-Jan-2019 (first application) or 17-May-2019 (ILR application)?
2. Is it still not worth trying? Should I simply go for Approach 1?
3. Are there any other risks involved that I have overlooked?

Married and RE-entered as my dependent on: 14-Jun-2014 (visa from 10-Jun-2014)

Questions:
1. What is the earliest date my wife can apply for ILR?

1. No sooner than WITHIN 28 days before 14th June 2019.

Are the rules now changed so that my wife can apply within 28 days before 10-Jun-2014 (i.e. on 13-May-2019)?
