HSMP Clearance + EC Applying Overseasm(not in home country)?

Hi

I submitted my HSMP application from Australia on 2 April, and am currently awaiting my decision. I have a valid working holiday visa which does not expire until 20 Jan 09 (although my 12 month work has expired).

I am meant to be in Europe for travel between 12-20 July, and am worried that I will struggle to get the approval before then. Under the new rules, is it possible for me to travel to Europe and or UK in mid July, and if my approval does come through mid July; have the original approval letter posted to me in Europe and or the UK, and then apply for EC at a British Diplmotic post somewhere in Europe, which will save me returning all the way back to Australia to apply for EC and get my passport stamped? Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you for your responses & information. It does not look possible, however I am just wondering whether I am still able to enter the UK for a few days enroute to travel through Europe, or is this likely to affect my application? I would onbiously then have to return to Australia late July to continue the process.....

I meant it is not possible to apply for EC (under HSMP) from any country other than the country of legal residence.

But there's no problem in you entering UK under any visa category until such time that you decide to enter UK on your HSMP visa. No problem and no bearing on your HSMP application whatsoever.

Just remember that you will have to apply for your EC (under HSMP) within 6 months of your HSMP approval. Make sure you get back to OZ in time for that .
