Application Acknowledgement receipt

Post by sahaz » Wed Jun 11, 2008 11:34 am

Hello,

My solicitor submitted on my behalf my ILR application on the basis of 14 years long residence about 20 days ago.

To this date, I still haven't received any acknowledgement letter and I also noticed while checking my bank statement that they have not cashed the cheque for the application fees (£750.)

The Application was sent via Royal Mail recorded delivery and also when tracking it shows that it was delivered.

My question is this normal or should I have had an acknowledgent letter and also the cheque cashed by now?

I'm aware that the 14 years application might take a long time but what about acknowledgement letter and taking the fees does these also takes a long time? Does anybody know?

Thanks in advance.

BIA is normally quick in taking money off your account and once that is done you should receive an acknowldgement letter fairly quickly. I can say that from my experience last year.
The fact that it is taking time now means that there could be a lot of backlog of applications. Did you check the BIA website for current processing times?
