Registering UK born children as British Citizen under 18

Post by Simplebuthonest » Sun Feb 10, 2019 3:01 pm

Hi,

Background:

Applicants: 2 Children, both born in the UK before the ILR granted to parents

Questions:
  • Should we use MN1 form to register them?
  • Filling an online application form is preferred or paper?
  • If we filled an online application form, can we opt-in for Appointments at UKVCAS centres
  • Where to find info on fees?
  • Would the above expedite the waiting time?
  • Can we use our ILR solicitor as a professional referee for both of our child registration, we are sending this registration application on our own this time?
Your help would be very much appreciated!

Kind Regards,
SimpleButHonest

Thank you so much for your prompt reply!

I can see this on the online application form it states:

Your second referee:
Give your second referee's details. This referee should be a person (of any nationality) who has professional standing. This can include a minister of religion, civil servant or a member of a professional body such as an accountant or solicitor (who is not representing you with this application)

perhaps one our experts might be able to give their input for the above?

If you are applying by yourself then the solicitor is ok to sign as your referee, if he fulfils the requirements.
I had seen that before but slipped my mind.

Brilliant! can the solicitor sign both of the registration applications?

Also, at what stage of an online application do I need to print the paperwork for referee to get it signed? options are:

*Start *Application *Documents *Declaration *Pay *Further actions

Many Thanks,

Solicitor can sign both forms.
As I am not familiar with the on-line options I let someone else comment - from what I have read in postings you print referee forms before submit.
