maintenance funds below £630- Tier 2

Post by matu83 » Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:16 am

Hello,

My partner needs to prove that she had £630 in her account for the last 90 days as part of her dependent visa application. The account did go below £630 occasionally but we immediately deposited more to go above it.
For example, on February 2 the balance went down to £550 and we immediately deposited £1000 and the balance went up to £1550. This is clearly shown in the statements.
To summarise, there were times on the day that the balance went below £630 but the day was never closed with sum below £630.
Is this sufficient or is there still a chance her application will be denied?

Thank you.

You risk a refusal as the rules are clear that the £630 must be maintained for the full 90 days without dipping.

You can use either your account, her account or a joint account.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Doesn't it show that we had the funds available in a different account (we moved it from our savings)?

If you are using ONE account, that account must be maintained at £630.

If you are using more than one account to show maintenance funds, the combined amount in all accounts must be over £630.

Not sure why you believe only the applicants account is required for maintenance funds. This is not the case.

Not sure what you mean by that. This is a Tier 2 extension from within the UK.

This is how you started your query, inferring to us, a group of members on an internet forum that have no clue about your immigration history, that only HER account can be used to prove maintenance funds. Which is NOT the case.

Either the applicant or the partners bank statements can be used or any account in joint names.

If you had a 'savings' account with the required funds, this could have been used instead of transferring money around.

Thank you very much for the reply, I should've been more clear.
To make sure I understand, the funds combined together can be either under my name, her name or both of our names. Am I right to say that?

Correct and must remain at £630 for the full 90 days.
