Dependent visa from Tier2 to ILR

Post by dheeraj1025 » Tue Feb 19, 2019 6:00 pm

My wife applied for dependent extension visa 3 years ago when I was on Tier 2 General. Its going to expire in a month.

Now, I am on ILR and my wife completed 4 years on a dependent visa, she still needs to apply for a dependent visa for 1 more year so she can apply for ILR after 5 years of continuous stay in dependant category. Is this true? or is there another option?

If this is the case does she need to apply for fresh ILR dependant category(https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse) or extension for her Tier2 Dependant status(https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members)?

She only needs 1 more year can we apply for 1-year dependant extension? 5 years seems expensive as she needs to pay for health care £200 for each year this costs £1000 just for health care.

You already asked this question in January and received a response, which doesn't change.

Once last question, can she apply for ILR now, as I am in ILR and she is in tier 2 dependent for last 4 years?
No she cannot.
Or she needs to be in tier 2 dependent visa for 5 years and the apply for ILR?
Yes.

Yes, it is true. She needs an extension and it will be a 3 year extension. There is no 'other option' or short cut route.

PBS dependent visa provided you got ILR based on 5 years Tier 2.

IHS Fees have doubled in January. For a 3 year PBS Dependent visa, IHS is £1200 plus the visa application fee.

Thanks CR001.

I have got my ILR based on five years stay on Tier 2 General.

This means I need to go with PBS dependant extension visa. https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members is that true?
