ILR Dependent spouse visa extension

Post by dulce03 » Thu Feb 21, 2019 10:33 am

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and it is very helpful to gather information.

I am on ILR dependent visa which was granted in Aug 2016 and is going to expire on May 2nd.
I am on full time employment.
Could you please help me with the details below.

1) How early can I apply for my visa?
2) Documents required for this.

PS: My husband was on ILR when I came to UK but now he is a british citizen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

1) How early can I apply for my visa?
No sooner than within 28 days before reaching 30 months residence, counted from the date you entered the UK.
2) Documents required for this.
All the same, up to date documents as what you initially required, i.e. financial, English A2 test, proof of 2 years cohabitation in the UK, etc. Page 64 in the guidance note lists what HO expect to see.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. Much appreciated.

Just 2 quick questions.

1)What is the maximum processing time to get my passport and BRP back to me.

I should travel to Europe on May 10th . So, I have to apply for a visa as soon as I get this extension done. This is worrying me as European visa should be applied atleast 4 weeks in advance.

2) Any way to get the process done earlier (like priority visa)?

It depends on the service you choose when you go through the online FLR(M) application process. If you do postal, it can take 8 weeks up to 6 months.

Yes, super priority, see link below. It doesn't guarantee that you will get a very quick decision though, so be aware of that.
