If you apply by post, you send the originals to HO. You get them back around the same time as the decision letter.

If you apply using the new UKCVAS service, you scan and upload it.

Thanks for quick help.

1. If we scan and upload then there is no need for UKVCAS to verify it?

2. I contacted the Immigration advisor to apply application through them, they are registered with OISC and they confirmed that they will send a postal application and verify passport and BRP by themselves and I would be able to keep originals.

Sorry for the repetitiveness of question as I want to keep my passport and BRP with me during the process so kindly if can guide for the safe process to adopt.

Thanks

If you apply using the new service, you attend an appointment for document verification and biometric enrolment with UKCVAS.
2. I contacted the Immigration advisor to apply application through them, they are registered with OISC and they confirmed that they will send a postal application and verify passport and BRP by themselves and I would be able to keep originals.
Your choice what you choose to do, but my understanding is that postal you have to send originals. UKCVAS is likely cheaper that an 'immigration advisor'.

Citizenship Documents Requirements

Post by ajuk2017 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 7:40 am

Dear All,

I need your help in finalizing the documentation for me and my wife's British Citizenship.

Details for Myself:
Tier 1 General
Arrived UK in 2011
Received ILR March 2018.
Citizenship due March 2019
Self-employed, Director of Limited Company
Salary + Dividends

Details for Wife:
Tier 1 General (Dependant)
Arrived UK in 2011
Received ILR March 2018.
Citizenship due March 2019
short period jobs on-off basis during 2011 - 2019
year 17-18 job(5 months) and started self-employment (5 months) (Self-assessment registered and submitted Jan 2019 for the first time)
Year 18-19 job (6 months) and ongoing self-employment.

Need help in general understanding of documents and some specific question below:

1. Do I and my wife need to send all income history since we are in the UK?
2. My understanding is that we need to provide the last 5 years travelling details and not for beyond. Is it correct?

Thank you for your help.

Reference: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... en-form-an
1) Economic activity is not a pre-requisite for AN - not required to provide proof of earnings.
2) List your periods out of country as required = five years (travelling days out/in to UK don't count) - no need to provide documents for this

if you do not pay tax through Pay AsYou Earn (PAYE) arrangements, we require the most recent HM Revenue & Customs Self-Assessment Statement of Account.''

Include them if you got any - still no issue with earnings levels - AN is more about residence and good character.

Re: Citizenship Online Application

Post by ajuk2017 » Thu Feb 14, 2019 7:57 am

Dear All,

I have started filling my application online, it is giving an option if someone else also applying with this application.
Shall we apply for my wife's citizenship under the same login (she is not my dependent for citizenship purposes)?

Thanks

On the online form you will be able to add family members applying with you at the same time but there is not a provision for "joint applications", all these applications will be decided on their own merit.

Non-applying dependants

Post by ajuk2017 » Sun Feb 24, 2019 4:45 pm

Hi All,

Please guide me about Non-applying dependants.
My wife is applying for citizenship with me (not as a dependant).
I have a UK born son and he already received his Citizenship and British passport (He is my dependent but already citizen so not applying for him).

What should I say about this question:

Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time? (Required)

Regards

From your scenario it seems the answer should be "no".

National Identity Card

Post by ajuk2017 » Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:16 am

Hi All,

I am filling the Citizenship application for me and my wife under the same login.

I have this question asked for me but not for my wife, does it happens like this?:

Do you have a valid national identity card?

Also,

Do I have to provide Pakistani NIC number?

Regards

Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)

Post by ajuk2017 » Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:26 am

Hi All,

"A penalty for a driving offence".

I and my wife probably have 1-2 PCN's (Parking related only, also paid within the half-price time) for the whole duration of residing in the UK.

I had 1 fine on mistakenly entering into the wrong entry in the City of London and it was 6-7 years ago. Fine paid within the half-price time.

Do I need to include these details in the application?

No Fast Driving or jumping over red Signal, no unpaid fine, no case went to the court.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks but please if you can shed some light on the question as it is appearing for me:

Do you have a valid national identity card? If Say Yes then it appears like this:

Your identity card (Pakistan)
Do you have a valid national identity card? (Required)
This includes identity cards, issued from non-UK governments. This does not include driving licences. If you have an internal passport, provide the details here.

I don't understand why this question is appearing as I have already confirmed that I have a valid passport and can provide.

Thanks & Regards
