Spouse visa extension - application type

Post by arunsk » Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:50 pm

Hi All,

I got married after I got ILR and wy Wife applied for a dependent visa as Family of a settled person.
Her visa is due to expire soon and need to apply for an extension.

I am now a Biritsh Citizen so the correct category for her is FLR(M) correct?
Could someone please clarify? Just wanted to sure so as to not reset her ILR clock.

I noticed now the process is online but not clear on how it works. Do we need to fill the form, scan and upload documents, book appointment and visit PEO with a printout and submit originals etc, could someone share more details in this regard?

regards
Arun

FLR(M) questions

Post by arunsk » Sun Feb 10, 2019 2:12 am

Hi All,

I am preparing to apply for my wife's extension under FLR(M) category (She entered using spouse visa when I was on ILR and now I am naturalized) and would really appreciate if someone can clarify below questions.
1. Current Annual salary - what is the best way to calculate this for a contractor with a daily rate? I am thinking of multiplying the day rate with the total number of working days (may be subtract few days as holidays), is this ok or is there any other better way?
2. Does anyone else other than the sponsor live in the property - we recently became parents so will include our child details. My Mother came to UK recently on visitor visa and staying with us, is it necessary to mention this or do they mean only those that are resident in UK (as visitors are not considered resident)?
Home office will have this information so if we don't mention this, is that considered as withholding information?

Thank you for your time.

regards
Arun

You will need to show evidence of your annual income. Did you file tax returns? If you did annual tax returns, I believe the total income you have in the tax returns should serve as proof for you.

Regarding the residents in your home. I think you should make sure you have evidence to prove that you have enough rooms in the house and that your income can cater for the dependants residing with you.
