ILR 28 days doubt

Post by Mouse123 » Thu Feb 28, 2019 4:50 pm

Hi
I need some urgent help with my ILR application. Actually, I came to UK as a student and started my proper job on 17 March 2014. Switched my Tier 4 Visa to Tier 2 (General) immediately and the visa issue date was 01.04.2014. Now, I have already applied for ILR on 22.02.2019 calculating my qualifying period from 17th March 2014. I didn't check my 2014 visa issue date as I lost the copy of it. My visa appointment is on 11.03.2019. I don't know what to do. It would be helpful if someone
could suggest something. Thank you.

So you applied too early correct?? You only qualify within 28 days before 1st April 2019 and the date of online submission and payment is the date of application.

All you can do is go ahead and hope for the best. Perhaps write a covering note explaining your error and asking for discretion.

Yes but you didn't have a ILR qualifying visa. You can use time spent on tier 4 towards 5 years ILR. It only starts counting from the date your tier 2 general was issued.

I believe CR001 intended to write "You can't use time spent on tier 4"

Time for tea Char ?
