Spouse dependent to ILR

Post by jomakin » Thu Mar 07, 2019 3:50 pm

Dear Sirs,
I am asking this question for my Sister who is not very computer literate. My Sister is married to a person that is on a Tier 2 Visa and is going to apply for ILR in September 2019. They got Married in Dec 2016 and My sister got her Spouse dependent visa from India in Jan 2017. She entered UK on 26 Jan 2017 on Dependent Visa. Now my question is When will she be eligible to apply for her ILR based on her status of wife of a settled person in the UK.
Kind Regards,

She needs 5 years residence on a dependent visa before she will qualify for ILR. There is no quick or shorter route.

Is her husband applying for ILR based on Tier 2 General 5 years residence or 10 years long residence??

Dear Char,

Thanks for your reply. Her husband is applying on the basis of 5 years on Tier 2.

She can continue on her tier 2 dependent visa and also extend her current visa until she meets the requirements for ILR, the rules allow this.

Hi
If husband applies for ilr under 10 years rule, can wife and child still remain tier 4 dependant Visa until husband gets ilr decision?

Thanks

Please continue in your own existing topic where your question has been answered more than once. The poster in this topic is NOT asking about long residence ilr!!
