Documents needed for BC Application

Hi there,
I arrived in the UK on the 15 March 2014. ​
My wife and kids arrived on the 12 July 2014. ​
In 11 June 2018, we all got the ILR. ​
I believe, we are eligible for the citizenship application on the 11 June 2019. However my family won't be meeting the 5 years residency requirement on the 11 June 2019.

My questions;
1.Can my family apply for British Citizenship at the same time with me on the 11 June, 2019? Or, do they have to wait till 12 July 2019?
2.If this is not possible, is there any disadvantage applying separately? Me on the 11 June and my family on the 12 July?

Why don't you all apply on or aftrer 12 July? You don't have to apply on the "due" date.

Your kid will probably be fine (assuming other criteria is OK).

Your wife will probably be refused as there is very little discretion on being present in the UK exactly 5 years ago. It's this rule, not the 5 years residency, which is the issue. Having said that the case worker has quite a lot of discretion, so who knows. But then they might question why you are in hurry so much.

Apply all on 12 July - I don't see any issues. What is the significance of the one month gap?

We are planning to overseas trip during school holiday. Is there a way to keep our passports and BRPs during application decision process? I know previously this was possible via NDRS.

I was talking about Citizenship application not Indefinite Leave to Remain application.

There is no discretion around the requirement that adult applicants need to be physically present in the UK at the start of the five (or three, if married to a British citizen) year period immediately preceding the date of application. Therefore, the earliest that your wife can apply for British citizenship is 11th July 2019.

You can apply on 11th June 2019 and the children can apply with you.

I can assure you, I took the time and click and read your link and the link it is included. I was looking for a simple "yes" or "no" to my question from you. (Can we go abroad whilst our citizenship applications in process?).

The link you provided says (not specifically for the citizenship applications);
In most cases, you will have your supporting evidence (including your passport) returned to you immediately once the appointment is finished. You may not be able to use your passport for travel until you have received a decision on your application.

Does this mean, even tough our passports returned to us after the appointment, we can't leave the UK whilst our citizenship applications in proces? I know this is not possible for the Leave-to-Remain and ILR applications. But how about citizenship applications?

You asked if there was a service to keep hold of passports and BRPs and we provided the link explaining the new UKCVAS service. You didn't specifically ask if you could travel or not after submitting your application.

1. We need to apply via Online (https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... onality-an)
2. We need to make an appointment with UKVCAS for biometrics and Documents check.
3. Passports & BRPs & Supporting Documents will be returned to us after the appointment.
4. We'll be able to travel overseas during decision process.

Hi Team,
When we apply for Citizenship do we need to scan all the passport pages including the empty ones. Or just the stamped pages?
The reason I'm asking is that my passport is 60 pages long however only few pages stamped. In addition my kids have old and recently renewed passports as well which makes 120 pages each. Do they really need to see the empty pages as well?

scan ALL pages, how will UKVI know that you have not got stamps on pages you decided not to scan???

isn't UKVCAS appointment about checking and confirming uploaded documents against the actual documents?

A lot of people in this board previously stated that to scan only the stamped pages. Then again, some people says all pages.

I only scanned my stamped pages and I got my approval. Although don’t think it’s that much more effort to scan even empty pages too if it gives you peace of mind

True it's not a big job scanning all pages but it goes up to 22 MB. I thought each file we upload should not exceed 3 MB.

I did use pdf too but you can just reduce the resolution quality

adjust your scanner settings to 150dpi, a 32 page passport should be under 3MB, limit is 6MB per file
