1st Year we need to Pay National Insurance or Not?

Hi All Gurus,
I have got one employment from one compnay and need to analyse my in hand salary.

During 1st year of coming and working in UK under HSMP, our National Insurance is wavied or not, but in Case of WP it is waived for 1st Year.
As NI is 8% of salary. it will really matter.

NI is not waived for HSMP Visa holders, you have to pay NI in same manner as regular UK citizens.

Then explain how he availed himself o it.
Give more details.
It is really not helpful for people to say, welll he did it without giving all the facts.
Maybe he is a director of his company and he paid himself a salary just up to the personal allowance.
He just didn't reach the threshold but he was franked but stop making us guess what is going on? Get your full facts before insisting it can be done.
