Post by MAKUSA » Mon Jun 16, 2008 10:11 am

Hi guys can anyone out there help, on my numerous visits to the Irish republic, i was given a 5 digit GNIB number by the immigration officer at the point of entry, he filled out some stuff on computer and wrote a five digit number on my passport, what is this number and would i still need to register at the garda office (because i would be staying in Ireland for more than 3 months) . please does anybody know?

Non-EU nationals have to register if staying in Ireland for more than 3 months. The number given would be your GNIB number just to help the GNIB find your record when you go into register.
