Switch from Tier 2 dependant to Tier 2 general visa

Dear Team,

I am working since last 1 yr in UK on Tier 2 dependant visa. Recently, company has assigned me COS.

The Visa Category on COS is Tier2(General-New hires-Restricted). The COS says this is shortage occupation.

Please advise since my COS says shortage application
Do I need to make application of Tier 2-shortage occupation or Tier 2 general leave to remain category?

Can I do application in UK as it says Tier 2 shortage ordo I need to go back to India?

Do I need to give IELTS exam?

Lastly, my sponsor doesn’t tick the box of providing me maintenance- so do I need to submit 3 months bank statement showing balance of £1575 and payslip of 3 mnths.

I would be very grateful for your advise.

You have to apply from India. You cannot switch within the UK to a tier 2 general from a tier 2 dependent visa.

You need to meet the English requirement.

You apply for shortage occupation when you select category.

You need to show maintenance funds for 90 days yes.
