My passport approval and stamp date was 9th June.
I sent a urgent treatment request on 11th June.
I then recived a email on 12th from the HO ack that my app is being treated urgently.
I received my docs on the 13th.

So they showed some urgency in posting back my docs. We have observed that the docs were posted 2 weeks after the stamping dates! So yes, it did help in my case.

hi I called HO today and was told that my applic is in final stages and I should hear from them soon. She also said she can't understand why it is taking so long after the decision has been made. Hopefully I will get it before Saturday

I recieved the call from HO today. Person was asking for the new photographs of my dependant son because he was telling its more than 1 year old. But I think he was confused with the son's date of birth & date of issue of passport. My son is using same photo that is there on passport & same I submitted in application.

Below are the details of my Son:-

Passport Date of issue: 13th November 2007
My date of Application: 13th May (reference no. allocated)

So my Son's photograph was exactly 6 months old at the time of application.

After clarification he told me that he need to speak to somebody & he ll give me call back if photograph is required.

Guys, Can anybody suggest regarding this if photographs would be required or not.

Thanks in advance

Lovnish,
generally, if a photograph is stamped on the passport/visa, the same photograph cannot be used for stamping visa 2nd time. That is the requirement for most of the embassies and consulates (may be all) in the world. It doesn't matter even if photos are 2 days old.

So send the new photos quickly.

Who told you this? I had a WP visa stamped in jan 08 and used the same photos for my Tier1 in May 08. They never had any problems. Rather my passport has the same photo on different visas in many cases.

Kmore, Thanks for your reply.

However I used the same photograhs for my WP visa stampings.

Previously I entered UK on MEWP work permit visa stamped on 27th July 2007 & another time I entered UK with ICT Work permit visa stamped 9th December 2007.

Do u think this rule should have been applied here also.

Is this mentioned on BIA website anywhere.

 I have used the same photograph for my visa applications between 2003 and 2007. I have 5 UK visas issued between 2003 and 2007.

And I am thinking of using the same photograph for my provisional driving license as well  .

regards

send photos now !

Post by chakde23 » Mon Jun 16, 2008 4:39 pm

Lovnish,

To be honest, you should send new photos asap ...we all really are struggling to understand how the process is working for Tier 1 being a new system .... you can always research and argue HO why was this not mentioned in any guidance notes , etc....but this will all result into only one thing which is frustrating.....delay delay delay and over above all - even after sending new pics....you will get extremely frustrated in following up with call centre for any update !

So better close your eyes and dispatch photos NOW .....and brace yourself for another phase ...chasing up CC for an update !

HO updated their webpage:

"
Current waiting times for work permit applications

During week commencing 16 June 2008 we expect to be considering:

Business and Commercial

Straight forward applications (including Tier 1's) between 27 May 2008 and 2 June 2008. All other applications between 16 May 2008 and 22 May 2008."

I still don't know if it's relevant for Tier1 general, but I hope so..

Lovnish,
When you apply for US visa, that is the first thing about photo - it should not the same photo alreadt stamped on your passport. The US guys r known to be more stricked about photo. The UK folks might not have so rigid on photo all these years. But very recently (may be couple of weeks back), in this forum, I found another message where HO asked for resending child's photos as the same photo was stamped earlier.

So to avoid any hassle, send the photos again.

Hi Kmore,

The prev post was about the incident where a person had sent the photos that were stamped earlier. But since this stamp was more than 8 months old, he was asked to resend the photo (as the photos were 6 months old). It was not because they were used earlier.

Hi all,
Will appreciate if someone can confirm where the Tier 1 applications are being processed. The address should be on the letter recieved by those who have had their passports stamped.
Its just that with the amount of delay being experienced by everyone I might need to use some ' influence ' so to say.
I have done this previously when I knew the applications were dealt with at Croydon and Sheffield.
So are they being dealt with in Durham as the acknowledgement letter comes from there. Previously they were deducting fees at Durham and then application went on to Croydon or Sheffield.
Thanks

Guys,

Dont know what is there criteria but person who called me from HO was telling they are more concerned about the photograph of child. My photograph is 1 year old & used twice for Visa stamping but he didnt ask for my photograph.

He told me that he will call back if he require the photos.

Please suggest....Do u think I should wait for his call or send the child's photo or call HO.

Guys,
probably, you are correct on the photo issue. Sorry for my ignorance. But when I send my passports for any visa stampimg (I happen to have visas of different countries stamped), i take care of the following.
1. Not same photo that is stamped earlier
2. On white background with dark dress
3. No polariod (but this time i have sent polariod photo only as the guy in studio confirmed UK passport and visa accepts polariod photo and the studio does only polariod photo for passport)

Though I have piles of old photos, I spent £15 for 3 and sent new photos.

hussainkothari wrote:Hi Kmore,

The prev post was about the incident where a person had sent the photos that were stamped earlier. But since this stamp was more than 8 months old, he was asked to resend the photo (as the photos were 6 months old). It was not because they were used earlier.

i also sent in urgent treatment form as my work is pushing me to go for a business trip to germany.

i sent it and when i called up to enquire i was told its in final stages. and the guy also confirmed with me the tracking ref no for the prepaid SD envelope which i sent. does that mean mine should be despatched soon?

This sounds bit starnge to me.
Even if you are permitted to use same photo multiple times, I wonder how do they accept the photo of 2003 in 2007.

At least there is a requirement, the photo should be recent. I must say, the HO guys are really liberal in terms of photo. Are they stamped in different passports (old & new), by any chance.
sushdmehta wrote::shock: I have used the same photograph for my visa applications between 2003 and 2007. I have 5 UK visas issued between 2003 and 2007.

And I am thinking of using the same photograph for my provisional driving license as well  .

regards
kmore97 wrote:Lovnish,
generally, if a photograph is stamped on the passport/visa, the same photograph cannot be used for stamping visa 2nd time. That is the requirement for most of the embassies and consulates (may be all) in the world. It doesn't matter even if photos are 2 days old.
