Naturalisation after ILR delayed more than 15 months

Post by gullyboy » Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:58 am

Hello everyone,

I need some advice here. I applied for ILR on Tier 1 General 5 year route around 18 months ago by post. Since then I have been waiting. I was called for an interview two months ago after which I received my ILR this morning after a period of 18 months. I can see in the guide (Nationality policy: Naturalisation as a British citizen by discretion) on page 24 of 42 that

"the applicant made an application for ILR at least 15 months before the
citizenship application, and was granted following a delay which was not their
fault"

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... retion.pdf

As its more than 15 months have been passed, can I apply for naturalisation now using this rule as it was home office delay an it was not my fault?

Could any senior members or anyone who have been in this situation please help?

Thanks very much
