COS start date and visa application

Hi All,

I have received a sponsorship from a new employer. They did put a start date on the COS of the 22nd of April. I have submitted my visa application (Switching employer - None priority - new system) over 2 weeks ago. I am now starting to realise that many applications are taking more than the 8 weeks advertised, and that could mean my result would come after the maximum they can push the COS start date to (22 April + 28 days = 20 May 201(=9).

My question, what could I do if I have not received the BRP by that date? Would the employer be able to move it more than the 4 weeks?
