Enhanced Redundancy guidance

Hi,

Can someone please guide me on enhanced redundancy? My company has offered me 2 weeks + 6 weeks redundancy offer. They will be informing the homeoffice after 8 weeks ( 2 wks + 6 wks) about my redundancy. Is this alright or are they required to inform them beforehand? Can i accept a new job within this 8 week period or will this be considered illegal? Please advise.
