I hope that since they have reached march now it will be a little bit better since there's no more in-country applications,
But I'm afraid at the end of march there will be another HUGE surge in applications from India for those who wanted to get into HSMP before 1st of April.
It's not 'affecting' their standards, they are no way to be near their standards and the word 'affecting' is not close to truth

Initial Highly Skilled Migrant Programme application (form HSMP1)

We aim to decide 50% of applications within five weeks, and 90% of applications within 14 weeks. Regrettably, due to a high volume of applications received over the past few months, we are currently experiencing delays in the processing of HSMP applications and this has had an impact on our service standards. We are working to reduce the high volume of applications and to minimise these delays.

We are currently considering applications received on 7 March.

We will update this notice on a weekly basis.

13th March now. 1 month spent on half a month. Better than February at least. Hopefully it doesnt slow down at the end.

This has been posted this morning, Monday 30 June 2008.

Lets see, it took them 11 days to advance 6 days. Great.

Theyre actually falling further and further behind.

Applications for HSMP have now been suspended. No surprises there.

Applications received before the dates set out below will still be processed.
However, if you made your application before 29 February 2008, before 31 March 2008 if you made your application in India, or before 30 June if you made your application from elsewhere, it will still be processed.

1. It is true, they are processing applications received on 25 March now.

2. Interstingly, their website was updated during a weekend. Perhaps they are now working weekends as well. Great news if they are.

3. It also means that in 4 days they have made 6 days progress, which is a huge improvement. Good news all round.

4. Soon they will be at the end of March, which means no more applications from India.

2. The people to update their website would be the Web Team who handle their website (the whole UKBA website most likely). So those people wouldnt probably be within the HSMP Caseworking Team.

Hopefully, they are not just cruising and marking a lot of cases as 'requiring further verification' so that they can fix their Service Level Standards.

A lot of applications on trackitt appear to be still on pending. Lets hope its just people not willing to update them.

crazy waiting!!

Post by xixiyaya » Fri Jul 25, 2008 12:57 pm

my application was received by HO on 11 April, and received ref no, on 22 April, they said my that my application was made on 15th April.

So far nothing have heard, and as known that they are still working on applications received on 25th March.

if anyone knows that such delay is because large volume of applications was sent from India by 31st March?

and how can I know if my case has been assigned? and by when can I ask them who will be my case worker?

Wow, a new update, they're now working on 26 of march :)
It took them 15 days to advance one day, impressive. I'm sure this is intentional, even if they had only one case worker working on this it can't be that it takes 15 days to advance only one day especially that previous to that there were like a couple of weeks of lightning fast progression (a week worth of applications each week) I can't assume that the applications received on the week between 18 and 25 were 15 times the number of applications received between 10 and 18th of march. probably that sole case worker was on leave or he didn't feel like working the last couple of weeks.

Sure enough, they have advanced one day in the past two weeks. All that time, I thought that they werent updating their site. It turns out they just didnt have any progress to report. Hmm. A grim day.

My partner and I sent our applications at the end of May.

Important HSMP update

Post by millencolin » Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:13 am

hi,

i have applied for the old HSMP on the 17th of April and have not heard back from HO yet.

My legal advisor confirmed that she has not received any responses from the old HSMP applications since February and she heard that the old HSMP applicants applied out of the country will be asked to apply for the new Top Tier.

Has anyone heard of something similar ?

any updates would be appreciated

The current situation is that all HSMP applications received by the UK authorities before the end of June 2008 will be processed in the UK. Applications received after the end of June 2008 are being returned and those applicants have to follow the new Tier 1 process.

Unfortunately, the UK authorities are taking a very long time to get through the applications they have. As stated above, they are currently up to the applications received on 26 March 2008.
