NARIC & English-language National on the online form?

Post by niomi » Sun May 19, 2019 1:56 pm

Hi, I am very happily now applying for my naturalisation using the online form. However when I specify that I am an US citizen it still forces me to fill out information about my English language degree, etc. At the end it wants me to declare that I have access to a NARIC letter for my English language.

It seems it won't let me proceed with the application unless I tick this, however, if I am correct I don't actually need to obtain one of these. Is everyone just ticking this and going to their appointments without actually obtaining the letter?

Do not tick the box for a degree.

It doesn't let me proceed if I don't tick that box. Has anyone else had some success doing that?

You are exempt if you are a US citizen. We don't all have sight of the online forms and what the questions or options are.

OK, thank you. I know I am exempt, but it's forcing me to lie and say I do have a NARIC letter when I know I am not required to show one. I will declare it but not bring one with me to my appointment.

You are NOT required to show a degree either. You really are overthinking this. The degree question in the form relates only to meeting the English requirement if NOT exempt. No penalty or issue against you if you answer NO, HO do know the rules.
