Hi, does anyone know if I apply for settlement status with a copy of ex's passport after divorce, will home office verify if passport is valid or lost or stolen?

Home office will ask for original if they have any doubt about the authenticity of the Identification otherwise you just upload copy only

EEA Residence Card : 07/2010 - 7/2015
EU Settled Status: Confirmed on 16th July 2019
Naturalisation : Confirmed on 02nd Oct 2020
Passport Approval : 21st Feb 2021

I'm asking because after separation the ex applied for new passport.
So the passport I have a copy of is most likely disabled.
